I guess I will start! My story starts about 5 years ago. Just after I turned 19. I had my first severe anaphylactic reaction. For those who are not sure what anaphylaxis is, it's a life threatening allergy. Mine is to foods. All fowl, fish and tree nuts. Since the first time being diagnosed in the ER, and further confirmation at the allergist. I have had many reactions and used an EpiPen many times. I am trying hard to bring anaphylaxis awareness to my peers, and hopefully to the public in my city. By starting a anaphylaxis support and education group.

yeah, just to mirror that post really,
A brief description on Anaphylactic shock
What actually happens in Anaphylactic shock is that when the allergen enters the bloodstream, huge amounts of histamine is released this causes sudden, severe lowering of the blood pressure and constriction of the airways. this requires immediate medical treatment normally by the use of an epi-pen which is adrenaline.

I was recently hospitalized from a gall bladder attack. When they took me for a CT scan, they injected the dye into me. I threw up and my face swelled up. Then they gave me fennregan(sp?), which is a stomach med, and I started twitching and jerking so bad I thought I was having siezures. So now I know I am allergic to IV dye and Fennirgen(sp?)

hello, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and i hope your well on the road to recovery, Ive looked into this for hours and hours because to be totally honest i have never heard of any allergy's to this, certainly none that would be as harmful to cause Anaphylactic shock? are you any closer to finding out what it is? how are you doing now?
